The uniform experiment collection releasing this Saturday is a widely varied body of work; the garments draw on standard UE inspirations like American, collegiate references, and distressed denim. The most interesting piece of the collection though is the Kangol collaboration: uniform experiment and and the British hatmaker teamed up to produce two version of a pork pie, the classic short-brim hat made famous by generations of hipsters. The pork pie actually first became popular during the Civil War, and was widely worn off-duty by US soldiers in the 1880′s. Of course, since then, the profile has become synonymous with jazz, blues, and ska musicians, which is a perfect explanation for the this item’s inclusion in the Americana theme of the uniform experiment collection. The hat is available in an all-black version with a black band, which exudes an almost formalwear look. Alternately, the ska influence is channelled heavily by a version also in black, but set off by a hatband in black and white checkerboard. Both feature the classic Kangol logo on the band, and both will be available starting this Saturday, March 5th, from uniform experimentaccounts. Check out both versions of the hat after the jump. via: SOPH.

The Aventador….it clearly follows the trajectory set by the Reventon, with its sinister angularity. But it also somehow seems to shatter even the bombastic precedents that Lamborghini is known to set. Unveiled at this year’s Geneva Motor Show – and in some ways a show-stealer – the Aventador is at the zenith of super sports car evolution. Lamborghini vehicles – by virtue of cost, and because anyone who drives them flirts with absurdity – are a rarity in real life. For the majority of us, they are best left in the imagination. Lamborghini recognizes that fact, and to augment the fantasies of fans, the Italian supercar maker just launched a microsite devoted to the Aventador, which allows visitors to configure and customize the vehicle. It isn’t the most fully featured configurator, but visitors can select from a few different options, including most importantly, choice of exterior finish and color. If humanity has any sense of self preservation, fossil fuel-burning internal combustion engines will become anachronisms sooner rather than later. But for the time being, the Aventador represents – by most metrics – a remarkable achievement in automobile design. Now you can imagine it in your own personal flavor. Check out some shots of the configurator after the jump, or visit it here.
